Open events beside the market#

Open the economic calendar through the Calendar rail menu, or turn on a chart's Calendar pane. Events independently controls chart markers. Closing the pane does not hide markers, and hiding markers does not close the pane. A standalone item gives a broader table and, when space permits, event details and release history.

The source status distinguishes Live, Cached, Off and errors. Cached data can remain useful while a source is unavailable, but its status matters before a release. Select the available source explicitly. If a saved source is absent, AMM shows that fact instead of silently substituting another provider's numbers.

Filter a useful event list#

  1. Open Filters in the calendar header.
  2. Use Affects my instruments to derive relevant currencies/countries from the selected chart or linked instruments.
  3. Choose Importance, Regions, Currencies, Countries and Event types as needed.
  4. Review the active-filter chips; remove an individual chip or clear the filter if events disappear unexpectedly.
  5. Use the day-density strip or standalone week strip to navigate to the day.
  6. Return to NOW to locate the next event and countdown.

The last selected importance level stays enabled so filtering cannot accidentally leave no importance category at all. Instrument relevance is a mapping aid: a US inflation release can matter to gold and a global equity index even when a narrow currency filter omits it. Review your intended coverage rather than treating “Affects” as a complete risk model.

Read values without mixing sources#

An event row can show Actual, Consensus or provider Forecast, AMM forecast and Previous, plus source-specific metadata. Missing values display as unavailable; they are not filled from another source. A provider revision, definition, unit or release series can differ from another calendar's similarly titled event.

AMM's forecast can include a confidence/range and sample count. That is a model output, distinct from a published consensus and from the eventual release. A low-confidence or small-sample forecast is not a trading instruction. Read the units, range and series context before comparing the headline values.

Times use the displayed timezone. An all-day event is not a precise intraday release timestamp. Compare America/New_York/UTC/London schedules with daylight-saving awareness, particularly during the weeks when US and European clock changes differ.

Use markers and event details#

Turn on Events to draw economic-event badges and guides on the chart. Crowded events can stack or share a badge. Hover shows a short summary; click opens the event flyout. Use previous/next event-group controls or their displayed keys to review nearby groups.

Show in calendar opens/selects the event's row. From the calendar, Show on chart focuses an available target chart; standalone details can Show on linked charts. This is navigation to the event time, not proof a candle's movement was caused by that release. A chart's marker display can be filtered independently through its saved calendar configuration.

Apply calendar settings to all charts, or Also apply to charts in the standalone item, copies the supported source/filter configuration. Check the affected chart count. This changes calendar display configuration, not every strategy's trading permissions or news-risk policy.

Inspect prior releases#

Select an event in the standalone calendar to inspect its values, affected instruments and available release history. The detail can show the last seven releases and the AMM forecast for comparison. The details panel may be hidden on narrower canvases; widen the item or use the offered detail presentation rather than assuming history is unavailable.

Compare like-for-like units and series. Revised Previous values can differ from the number originally released. A screenshot of current history is a dated view, not a preserved point-in-time feed of everything a trader knew before each release. Historical chart movement plus current revised values is not a causal strategy backtest.

Set a reminder#

Choose Alert me 5 min before or Alert 5 min before from the event detail/flyout and confirm. The reminder is a server-owned notification and appears in the notification centre when it fires. Ensure the AMM server remains running and that notification settings allow the channel you expect. A desktop alert also depends on operating-system permission and the desktop application environment.

An event reminder is separate from an indicator background alert and a screener rule. Use Background alerts for a completed-bar indicator condition; use an event reminder for a scheduled calendar occurrence. Neither automatically places a trade.

Recover empty or outdated content#

For no matches, clear filters and inspect source and date. For Off, open Brokers & feeds settings; Retry cannot enable a deliberately disabled source. For source errors, read the message and use Retry or an explicitly offered other source. Refresh is disabled while a request is active.

Keep source identity when reporting a disagreement: exact event title/series, timestamp and timezone, provider, units, expected value and the visible status. Do not replace one source with another and claim they are identical. During a release, verify that a visible Actual is actually present and current before interpreting a chart reaction.
