Choose what the table represents#

Open Positions & orders from Trade. The blotter can inspect the Chart, its current account, or All accounts, and offers account selection where appropriate. Choose scope before interpreting a total. A symbol match alone is insufficient when two accounts trade the same market or a strategy and a manual chart have different ownership.

The available panels distinguish Positions, Broker Orders, AMM Local Orders, Order History, Position History and Chart Logs. The exact layout can show these as tabs or separately placed panels. If a supporting panel is hidden, restore it from the item's add menu rather than creating another trading session.

Inspect open exposure#

  1. Select the account scope and open Positions.
  2. Use Group by account for a multi-account view.
  3. Inspect symbol, side, size/unit, entry/current price, open P&L and SL / TP.
  4. Show the Owner column and use Origin filtering when distinguishing manual, strategy, broker or other exposure.
  5. Open Columns to reveal useful fields and resize/reorder the table to suit the task.
  6. Select a record and use Open in chart to review it against its exact account/symbol.

A hedging account can show several separate positions for one symbol; a netting account aggregates a broker position differently. Treat the broker's position identity as authoritative. A strategy ownership label is not a second independent broker position, and opening another chart does not duplicate the broker's actual exposure.

Read account figures and totals#

The positions footer shows open P&L and available account details, including balance/equity and Today/Week/Month changes when the broker provides enough information. Open the account-detail surface for the component explanation. Keep each figure's currency and account scope visible.

A multi-account portfolio can contain GBP, USD and EUR accounts. Do not add raw money figures without an explicit conversion basis. AMM may show separate account groups or unavailable values where an honest aggregate is not possible. An em dash or unavailable status is not zero. Period changes also depend on the provider's history/deposit/withdrawal data and the period's baseline, so a simple balance difference is not always trading profit.

Manage a position deliberately#

The position menu offers supported actions such as Edit SL / TP…, Reduce…, Double position, Reverse position, Close position, Copy position id and Show in position history. Read the target and current account before confirming. A partial reduction is different from a full close; doubling/reversing can increase or recreate exposure.

Strategy-owned positions can require explicit manual override. Broad close/flatten operations have their own confirmation and scope. After an action, verify the updated broker state instead of treating the disappearance of a row during refresh as proof of execution. Price and size availability differ by broker and instrument.

Distinguish working broker orders and local plans#

Broker Orders shows the lifecycle from submission/acknowledgment through fill, cancellation or rejection. Inspect status, error, created time and broker id; a missing broker id can mean acknowledgment has not arrived. Use the order's Modify price… or Cancel order action where supported. Cancellation can race with a fill.

AMM Local Orders contains host-managed position-associated plans, such as partial TP/SL. Their trigger/status/target position are separate from broker pending orders. A local plan depends on the AMM runtime monitoring it; it is not a substitute for claiming broker-resident protection. Cancel the correct local id rather than a similarly priced broker order.

Review and export history#

Order History and Position History offer date-range and other filters, including order status/side where relevant. Position History can Group by position or show individual deals. Inspect commission, swap and displayed net totals with the chosen filter. Futures roll legs carry a Roll indicator and can be grouped to show their relationship.

Use Export CSV to save the table's history for external analysis. Review the exported range and row count. A filtered view is a scoped report, not necessarily all lifetime account history. Broker history availability and limits vary; absent opening fills may leave an honest exit-only record rather than a fabricated round trip.

Use Historical trades on a chart when you want persistent completed-execution markers. Signals and Orders visibility are separate controls. A data-panel symbol link can select and focus a historical record on the chart without changing its source to another account.

Diagnose stale, empty or disputed data#

Check filters and scope first; Clear filters distinguishes an empty result from no account data. Read the stale/loading/error state and use refresh where offered. Open Chart Logs for severity/source/type filters, Live · 10 s, Copy selected and Load older events. Copy the exact order/position id when requesting support.

After reconnect or restart, allow account reconciliation before acting. If an action's transport result is ambiguous, refresh broker orders and positions before retrying. When AMM and the broker disagree, preserve the exact account/mode and reported sync error, and verify at the broker. Closing the blotter, chart or application is not proof that exposure or broker-held orders have been closed.
